Your presentation will be judged on both content quality and communication effectiveness. The use of visual-audio aids is encouraged such as the animated ppt presentation in an outline format. Your grade on the presentation will be separate from your grade on the written paper.
After your presentation, you should submit the final manuscript in full text online when it is due. The final manuscript is expected to be of high quality. Therefore, you may have some time to make necessary changes after you receive feedback during presentation. You should keep the e-version of both ppt presentation and the full manuscript text of group project for future reference. Many of my previous students found it quite convenient to just modify it when their boss wanted them to turn in a legal risk analysis for business proposal in a short notice.
Group Project Evaluation. Your group project for class presentation will be evaluated according to the following components on a 100 point scale
(1) Meaningful group participation (10),
(2) Professional demeanor (20),
(3) Logically reasoning by a reasonable person standard (30),
(4) PPT clarity and organization (30), and
(5) Responses to questions and comments (10).
Your group project for the written manuscript will be evaluated according to the following components on a 100 point scale:
(1) Purpose of your project (20),
(2) Clarity of your framework (20),
(3) Depth and width of your gathered research information (20),
(4) Demonstrated ability of your analytical skills (20), and
(5) Feasibility of your strategies and reasonableness of your conclusion (20).
Again, please limit your group project manuscript within seven (7) pages in text with at least 10 references on the additional pages, and use single-spaced lines for text with a double space between meaningful paragraphs. Here is the best way of how to organize your manuscript: The title page (title of your project, group #, group members’ name and last four digits of ID, date of completion and submission), the page for table of content, the page for executive summary, 7 pages for text, the page for references, additional pages for figures, tables, exhibits, etc. (no more than 20 pages please). Please also see the guidelines for this assignment as well.
Group project has a large proportion in your final grade calculation. The project has two parts: (1) the written manuscript that should have a title page containing your group membership (names with ID, and the title of your project, date of submission), executive summary page, table of content page, main text pages (7 pages maximum), reference page (10 references minimum), pages for exhibits, graphs, figures, tables, etc, and the suggested page limit – 20 pages maximum. (2) the ppt presentation that should be posted on Bb for class review and comments. The ppt should use the format of outlines, picture, exhibits, graphs, tables, summarized sentences in presentation for ease viewing, and the estimated length of slides should be for a 12-minute presentation maximum in real world.
Please realign your group project closer to the above suggested template and outlines. As everyone in your group will get the same points as graded to your project, everyone in your group should have a meaningful participation and contribution to the development of your group project. Inaction by an individual, non- response or late response to, and/or no-interaction with other members of your group will drag your group behind and lower your group project grade. The instructor reserves the discretionary right to make an adjustment of your final grade upward when your final score is within the boundary range if you are deserved by your good performance on professional demeanor and class participation/attendance.
