Read King and Regan (2014), Chapters 14 and 15, and prepare brief written responses to the following study questions:
a. What is the difference between a “sexual variant” and a “paraphilia?”
b. Is sexual variant behavior within a marriage relationship acceptable if both partners are willing? Why or why not?
c. Can paraphilia’s be treated? Should paraphilia’s be treated? Why or why not? d. What are some of the effects of sexual harassment on the giver? On the recipient?
e. Reflect on the reasons there is so much reported sexual abuse in this country annually (why you think it happens frequently). List a few factors and explain in about 2 paragraphs.
f. Reflect on the question, “Is pornography harmful?” Why or why not? What is your opinion on the use of erotic materials by married couples to increase their sexual enjoyment?
g. Having nearly reached the end of this class, look back on your answers in week #2. How have your understandings of human sexuality changed?
