Description
—
Take a particular debate within Education, say why it is significant, lay out the various opposing positions and then argue for your own position. In effect this could be the equivalent of a briefing paper or advice to a senior policy maker. You should be able to identify the various theoretical and ideological positions taken by participants in the debate and comment on their interpretation and handling of evidence.

It is up to the writer what ‘debate’ they wish to discuss. I have left this completely open as to allow the writer to focus on a debate within education they have knowledge about.
