Are Perinatal mental health services working?

Purpose
This systematic review has examined methods that should be developed to improve perinatal mental health and service among women. There are many instances of perinatal mental health experienced among women and mothers in resource constraint families. To achieve the purpose of the study, the key questions involved the following: examining available information regarding methods of improving perinatal mental health among people, identification of effective tools to offer quality services to women, and examination of methods of managing perinatal mental health.
Method
A systematic review was used for the collection and analysis of secondary sources of data. The data was accessed from different databases including CINAHL, SSCI, SCI, PsychINFO, the Cochrane Library, EMBASE and MEDLINE. The analysis of the collected data was based on a qualitative approach where common patterns and themes were identified based on the thematic technique.
