Description
Review both videos below and compare and contrast by identifying the following:
1 – If you were to narrow down the main point of each video in one statement or sentence what would it be for each video. (Hint – Simon repeats his main idea or main point and Robert is ultimately giving the main result from study).
2 – At what point did each presenter introduce their main point in their presentation for the first time? (The authors in your text refer to the placement of the main idea is the “approach used.” When the main idea is introduced at the beginning of your message then you are using the direct approach, whereas if you wait to get to your main idea until later on in your message then you are using the “indirect approach.” Did you find that you have a preference for when you get the main point from the speaker? What is your preference and why?
3 – How did the presenters generally organize their content? At what point in the message did the authors provide explanation, examples, facts/evidence?
4 – Which speaker is more engaging and why? Did you have a preference for non-verbal communication techniques or styles for delivery of message? Be specific and note what you liked or disliked with respect to tone of voice, hand/arm gestures, body posture, movement, overall energy.
