Examine and analyse the changing character of diplomacy, its development, practices, procedures and skills, and discuss its role foreign policy making and international relations more broadly;
Critically assess the effectiveness and sustainability of national and multilateral diplomatic strategies, instruments and tools;
Explore ideas, theories and approaches drawn from international relations, foreign policy analysis, diplomatic theory, political psychology, sociology and media studies to help generate an improved understanding of foreign policy making, foreign policy change and diplomatic practice.
