Q3. Outline how the Innovation(s) contribute towards improving Sustainability performance, ensure you state the aspect of sustainability you are focusing on.
Sustainable Performance is the harmonisation of financial, environmental, and social objectives in the delivery of your core business activities to maximise value. By working on reducing greenhouse gas emission across every part of their value chain, PepsiCo intends to protect the environment and tackle climate change from the heart.
In 2020, PepsiCo announced a transition to 100% renewable electricity through a range of solutions across all U.S. direct operations, building on progress they have made globally. The sustainability report states, “Our Sustainable from the Start program helps our product development teams project and consider the environmental impact, carbon and water footprint, and packaging recyclability of a product.”
Q4. What are the sources of information from your chosen company that you will use to support your evaluation?
Q5 Provide One Academic and One non-academic high quality source that you will use in your evaluation. Use Westminster Harvard to give the complete reference. Briefly justify why you think each of these is high quality.
Academic
Abbot, Benjamin W. et al, “Biomass offsets little or none of permafrost carbon release from soils, streams, and wildfire: an expert assessment,” Environmental Research Letters, Volume 11, Number 3, March 2016, http://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1748-9326/11/3/034014/pdf
Non-academic – High quality:
Adam, P. N., and D. L. Inman.2009. Climate Change and potential Hotspots of Coastal Erosion Along the Southern California Coast-Final Report.CEC-500-2009-022-F, Sacramento, California Energy Commission
The reference given that was academic, is an academic reference because it was edited by the authors peers and took a long time to publish. The non-academic reference is also compatible as it was written for the mass public.
Q6. Have you been able to use TAGS? If yes, complete Q7, if no, complete Q8
YES/NO (delete as appropriate
Q7. Using your work from Week 4 and 5, paste in a table of search terms you have tried and the number of tweets each of these searches retrieved. Paste in after this, a screen shot of your Read Me settings page showing search terms and results for the BEST search you think you have done.
Q8. Where you could not use TAGS, explain why not. List the filename of the spreadsheet you have chosen to use for the next stage and give reasons for why you have chosen it.
You shouldn’t use tags if it is not referring to a category, so if its just a statement or a phrase. I will use tags of ‘Pepsi’ or ‘GHG’ to see if anything comes up about Reducing greenhouse gas of Pepsi.
