Description
John F. Kennedy and Bill Clinton faced similar rhetorical problems in their respective speeches to the Houston Ministerial Association in 1960, and the American Legion Convention in 1992. Explain one similar rhetorical problem they both faced(i.e. what was the problem, and why was it a problem for them?). Then, choose two key rhetorical strategies that they both used, define those strategies, and explain how they functioned to deal with the rhetorical problem in each case. The problems must be similar, andthe strategies must be identical. For instance, if you say that Kennedy used a fortiori, then you must explain how Clinton used a fortiori. Be sure to do more than just describe where in the speech an example of a given strategy exists; explain how their use of the strategy helped them to address the rhetorical problem. Kennedy and Clinton used many of the same strategies, so you will have plenty of choices. I don’t need any sources besides the speech itself to be sited when needed! The rubric and more directions are attached! I appreciate you doing this! Have a great day. Thank you!
