Question One:
In children and young people with Type 1 Diabetes, the goals of care include the near-normalisation of glucose metabolism, the management of acute/short and long-term complications, unrestricted participation in age-appropriate everyday activities and normal physical and psychosocial development.
Discuss, drawing on a range of current relevant literature, the approach to care and nursing interventions that should be provided for a child newly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes so that optimal glycaemic control can be established and promoted over time.
(Do Not Forget: Discuss the causes of admission, diagnose process, inpatient nursing care and nursing education to the child and family before discharge)
Question Two:

Discuss, using a range of relevant current literature, how the children’s nurse should provide care for a child/adolescent and their family whilst receiving inpatient care for anorexia nervosa in an acute children’s hospital setting.
