plot diagram

The exposition of a story introduces readers to the setting (both place and time) and the characters. It may also introduce the conflict.
The Rising Action of a story is the largest part of the story. It consists of all the details about characters and the situation they are encountering. It also introduces us fully to the protagonist and antagonist of the story. The Rising Action gives a clear understanding of what conflict the protagonist is encountering.
The Conflict is the struggle the protagonist is going through. Who or what is he up against and why?
The Climax is the height of the story. It’s the point where the conflict comes to a breaking point and the protagonist’s fate is decided.
The Falling Action is the consequences of the climax. What has the climax caused to happen to the protagonist, antagonist, and any other important characters?
The Resolution is the ending of the story. What about the ending is significant?
