– Describe its international climate change commitment (so-called Nationally Determined
Contribution or NDC) under the Paris Agreement (the version available in English);
– Assess, discuss and explain the NDC’s coverage, level of ambition and fairness, and alignment with
the overall objective of the Paris Agreement.
– Use an existing coding scheme to assess the NDC’s alignment with the country’s domestic climate
change policies.
Overall, the case study will thus situate the country’s NDC between the two objectives of satisfying
domestic (climate-, energy-, or other related) interests and the international global goal of addressing
climate change.
