According to the latest statistics, cancer has become the number one cause of death in Canada. Canadian cancer society states that in 2016, 29.6% of overall deaths were attributed to cancer. As of 2020, that number has risen to 30%. In 2015, a total of 77,054 patients had died of cancer, in 2020 – 83,000.
Lung, breast, colorectal and prostate cancers are the most diagnosed forms of the disease. According to the 2020 stats, these four types comprise 48% of all new cases.
Using the Canadian cancer society website, please do a research project about one of the following two cancer types: breast or lung. Students may choose from one of the following formats: Microsoft Word Document or PowerPoint presentation. The project must include a bibliography in the end, using links to pages used and referenced. There will be a class discussion based on the projects.
