Creativity is what makes an organization succeed – the ability to foster creative thinking, developing exceptional talent and leadership and a high degree of brand recognition – and is influenced by creative people, creative processes, creative products and creative cultures/environments.
If organizations expect their employees to cultivate creative thinking, they need to be provided with the tools and support necessary to be successful. This means organizations are required to focus on the 4P’s of creativity, which are person, process, product and place. Make sure you can describe each one. Reflect on these questions:
1. What characteristics of individuals may help or hinder idea generation and/or implementation?
2. What tools, techniques and/or methods are utilized to optimize creative and critical thinking?
3. What do individuals want to do better or what makes something creative?
4.How are the internal and external environments helping and hindering idea flow?
