Poverty Written Report: Policy brief
Begin by thinking critically about the current state of poverty in your study country.
• Can you identify some key constraints to alleviating poverty?
• What types of solutions have worked in other countries or regions?
• How likely are those solutions to translate to “your” country?
Note: there may not exist rigorous, causal evidence on the type of policy solution or intervention that
you recommend in your focus country; indeed, you may even struggle to find evidence from a country
that is similar to yours. Be careful to recognize this trade-off between external and internal validity of
the existing evidence.
