A literature review starts with the choice of a topic of interest, a research question that worth investigating. It then moves to searching, retrieving, assessing, and summarizing the relevant literature. It ends with analyzing and synthesizing the findings and writing a report.
Your literature review assignment should address the following points:
1. State clearly the research question you are interested in and your motivation to investigate it.
2. Identify the relevant literature and produce a review of key findings and conclusions.
3. Report any controversies or conflicting findings that you encounter in your review.
4. Briefly describe research methods used to investigate this research question.
5. Pinpoint new directions for further research as suggested by the literature.
6. Explain how your research question will have scientific or applied value given the conclusions from the points above.
