Active citizenship is the philosophy that citizens should work towards the improvement of their community through connection, public service, volunteer work and other such efforts to improve life for the citizenry.
In this vein, students are required to “look out their window” and
Identify a problem
Gather information (including sources/cites/documentation)
Examine solutions
Develop a potential action plan.
Attempt to fix the problem / why it will be difficult to fix.
Explain governments’ involvement or lack of involvement.
