The Wolves: Analytical and Creative Writing Assignment
Use the book The Wolves by Lynn Nottage. That is the only source you should use. Also, please use simply wording and flow. I would prefer that you go with Option 1, but I can’t make you. Whichever one you think you can write the best and within the instructions. My teacher loves it when we get personal and emotional. Like very personal. It doesn’t have to be real but it should at least sounds realistic lol. The paper instructions are pasted below. Please read everything, especially the emphasis on analyzing:
One specific and thoughtful page, written in first or third person, analytical either way. Analytical means that you re-read it and ask WHY after almost every sentence, making sure that your next move offers some answers. This short piece must embed and discuss two (2) brief quotations from these possible sources . Make sure you choose the quotes carefully. I will be making sure you aren’t A single word counts as a quotation. Here are your two options to write about.
How does this play relate to you personally? As a male reader, what was it like? Does this play reflect a binary view of gender or not? You could also focus on athletics as the source .
Write a 1-page monologue that explores either a character’s internal monologue or an unstaged scene in The Wolves. Support this monologue with a paragraph long description of the scene and your analysis of what was going on for the character, explaining important choices you made in language and imagery within your scene. For example, you could write about an unseen scene between Week 5 and Week 6 when Megan dies.
