Select a specific focus area of the book you have reported on and find out what research has been conducted recently on the topic in the past few years, as well as, if anybody has any real measurements on the issue, what are the results of those measurements . Remember the exercise we had on the “What are your weaknesses” paper? It had no data, no reference to other work, and it was not published in a scientific journal. This time we are looking for something more scientific. Start with https://scholar.google.com/ and search for academic journals.
This is an executive level document in which you answer a question from your boss’ boss: “What’ s new in the area of … ?” It has to be concise, precise, with clear attribution of the sources of information, and have a conclusion. While it is OK to discuss the research with colleagues, the write-up and most of the research shall be individual work. The literature review will be submitted through Canvas as a PDF file.
Make sure the following issues are well addressed:
1. Does the document have a title and your name on it?
2. Formatting – does this document look like an academic report presented to an executive?
3. Are the references easily identifiable in the text and reproduced at the end of the document?
4. Are the references from reliable academic sources?
5. Are there enough references to sustain the general conclusion you wrote?
6. Does the conclusion tell the reader all there is to know in a concise manner?
