Critique 2 artworks of your choice from virtual museum or gallery (link provided to museum) 1-2 pages in length.
These pieces do not have to be related or by the same artist. One can be a painting and one can be a sculpture. Write and submit 1-2 page paper.
Suggestions to writing a critique:
*What is the Subject matter
*Look at the composition and elements in the piece of art:
*Does it draw in your eye?
*Does it tell a story that keeps you looking?
*Where is the main focus?
*Is there any aspect you particularly admire, why?
*Could an idea be developed further?
*Is the perspective and proportions accurate?
*Describe what you see: specific palette, mood, subject, direction, perspective, objectives, use of shading, lighting.
Describe the emotional impact
Note your immediate response, as well as what is it in the artwork that generated an emotional response.
Try to assume the voice of an art critic. Use your artist vocabulary to support and defend your viewpoints
