HIE Legislative Talking Points
Utilize the documents Effective HIE Use, Federal Incentives May Save Medicare Billions ; Reducing Medicare Spending Through Electronic Health Information Exchange: The Role of Incentives and Exchange Maturity; Health Data Exchange Vital to Quality Care at Lower Costs to create a one- page sheet of talking points that will be shared with other advanced practice nurses for a legislative outreach day.
Other scholarly documents (within the last 5 years) may be used to create the talking points.
All talking points must be factually based. Each talking point must include an in-text citation for support. Talking points should be formatted with bullet points and should contain the most pertinent information to encourage legislators to act on and support EHR and HIE legislation.
