3. Describe the difference between an immigrant and refugee. What are some of the challenges unique to this population? How can social workers demonstrate cultural humility/sensitivity as they have immigrant and refugee families in becoming acculturated to the United States. What skills are necessary?
Resources- The resources must be included in references and cited properly. Chapter 6, Planning in Generalist Practice, highlights the eight steps in the planning process. Students should have a better understanding of identifying client’s strengths, and using the concepts of performance, conditions, and standards to establish goals and objectives. This chapter stresses the importance of being culturally competent when establishing a contract with various client populations.
