3) Below is a chart showing the change in latitude and depth for marine species from 1973 to 2019. Note that in the first graph above 0 is north and below 0 is south. In the second graph, 0 Is sea level and below 0 is depth below sea level.
a) What is the multiregional trend of latitude and depth (orange line) of marine species in this time frame? What are some factors that might cause this trend?
b) Species along the northeast coast of the US (blue line) experience more variability and a larger trend than species in the Eastern Bering Sea (green line). Why do you think this is the case?
