ASSIGNMENT
So far in class we have largely discussed the historical making of race and racial differences in the United States. In 2,000-2,500 words describe the histories of race included in the work of Deloria, Du Bois, Vasconcelos, and Trevino and indicate (at length) which of these conceptions of the history of race has the best explanatory power. In other words, which one are you most convinced by? Make sure to indicate the important conceptual and historical ideas each author is proposing or arguing against. You may use other texts we have read in class as supporting documents. These include Dunbar-Ortiz, Roediger, and any of the movies we have watched so far.
Make sure to cite your sources using footnotes or endnotes with proper citation formatting including Author, Title, Publishing Information, Date of Publication, and Page Number(s) in Chicago Style.Links to an external site. If you do this correctly, you do not need a bibliography.
