READ: Preface (pp. xi-xiv). This is a brief introduction to his research.
READ: Introduction (pp. 1-24). This explains the background of research on immigration and assimilation, and the puzzle of why and how Mexican-Americans differ from other immigrants.
READ: Methodological Issues (273-281). We are reading this book because it is an excellent example of an interview-based study.
