ASSIGNMENT
Interview any female, minority, gay or lesbian practitioner in the criminal justice system, law enforcement, legal field, corrections, parole, probation, military or any related field regarding various issues (i.e. obstacles, major contributions of diverse practitioners in the field, recruiting, promotion and retention in their agency; sexual harassment and discrimination based on gender, race or sexual orientation).
Prepare a 2 to 3 page paper, using APA formatting:
summarizing the interview
analyzing2 or 3 related course concepts
discussing what you learned
As a part of your analysis you should explain how the course concept is similar to your interviewee’s experience or distinguish his/her experience to show that the concept does not apply. For example, if your interviewee experienced an incident, which could have been perceived as sexual harassment, explain the two types of sexual harassment, how the law applies to the facts in their particular case and why the conduct would or would not constitute sexual harassment. Consider continuing with a discussion regarding how the agency reacted and whether it was in compliance with the recommendations in the textbook or any of the provided resources. Are there changes to the agency policy you would recommend?
