In the hustle and bustle of life we often overlook key moments, events, and other happenings that confront us. Without stopping to reflect, we make mistakes, repeat mistakes, or perhaps, make some good changes to one or more areas of our life unwittingly. But what if we take a metacognitive approach to the mistakes we make, what we are learning, and the growth or regress we are experiencing? What if we think about our response to instructions, feedback we get, and write down our thoughts and act on the positive conclusions we can form from them? We become more conscious, better student learners and professionals. Reflection yields dividends for those who engage in it.

In the “Syllabus and Course Calendar” folder, find “English 101 Fall 2020 Syllabus.” Review the learning outcomes for this class. Skim through the information and reflect on it as it applies to you as a student in this class.
Step 2: In the “Syllabus and Course Calendar” folder find, “English 101 Course Calendar Revised.” The information there constitutes the list of topics and activities we completed in this class. Skim through the information and reflect on it as it applies to you as a student in this class.
Step 3: Reflect on your discussion posts, individual assignments, collaborative assignments, peer comments, feedback to other peers, feedback from the instructor, group PowerPoint presentation slides, or any other activities or projects you completed in this class.
Step 4: Review a sample reflective writing text for ideas on how to structure your own essay which should be between 2 ½ -3-pages.
