Discussion Question #5 – Flint Water Crisis:
What did you learn from Dr. Sagar’s lecture? What were some of the major problems that plagued Flint, Michigan and how did that play a role in the Flint Water Crisis?
In August 2020, the state of Michigan reached a $600 million dollar settlement to compensate residents in Flint, Michigan for their exposure to lead in their drinking water. Read more about the settlement in this NPR article (Links to an external site.), then write a short response on whether you feel the settlement is an appropriate response for what occurred in Flint.
