1) A BOOK-BASED ESSAY:
The following books are 150 pages or less and address issues including race, immigration, the environment, etc. They also speak to the importance of taking action for social change. Book-based essays incorporate a brief summary + author background and in-depth analysis of the book’s central ideas. Consider also: How did other readings we have done in class intersect with, reinforce or contradict this reading? What theories did the author put forward that changed how you think about social justice, your society and/or your life as a professional and/or a citizen?
