L’Aveu
Identify a scene (or a set of scenes) from the film that you found particularly compelling. I will provide login to Vudu so you can watch the movie.
Write a short essay (3-4 pages, double-spaced, 12 pt font), in which you discuss these
scenes as a commentary or a metaphor on Czechoslovakia in the early 1950s. Do not
summarize the film’s plot, but analyze a particular issue, character, event (or a set of
events) depicted. Make links to what you learned in the class. The essay is designed as
a reaction to the film. It does not have to be polished, but it does have to be written in
full and clear sentences that interpret the film relating to what you learned in class.
