Contribution of Physician Associates to waiting times for psychiatry services
To help you get started, consider the 5 main steps of writing a literature review:
1) Define a research question
2) Search for relevant literature
3) Identify themes, debates, and gaps
4) (Critically evaluate sources)
5) Write a review
The idea of the first 3 steps will be introduced and explored further in your lectures. But remember that your research question should be focused, relevant and researchable. Some suggestions of topics will be given in the tutorial.
Your report should be written to the standard of published literature reviews and the best way of understanding this is to read several in your preparation to write your own. You may wish to use your own structure, but a common format is summarised below:
Introduction (roughly 200 words) challenge
• Set the scene and introduce any ideas
• State your aims and objectives
Main body (roughly 600 – 700 words)
• Develop your debate, evaluate the pros & cons, critically analyse the topic, identify any gaps
• Answer your research question by drawing evidence based conclusions
• Make recommendations for future
The client requires both referenced and created graphics, tables and diagrams.
The assignment must have A LOT of critical analysis so must do a wide range of reading. Also, in order to pass this assignment, which as indicated is at masters level, must be written at level 7.
Choose 3 good points and critically analyse them in detail with a lot of discussion rather than multiples points and being descriptive throughout the document. Maybe draw camparison between UK/USA and canadian Physician associates.
