TASK 1 Critical Analysis of a consultation with a patient
Using a real case taken from your clinical practice and feedback from your clinical supervisor, you will undertake a reflective critical analysis of your consultation with a patient who presents with a minor illness.
Your assignment should incorporate the following:
• A testimony of competence and 3 Observed Consulations with Feedback from the clinical supervisor will be included as evidence to demonstrate the ability to make safe, appropriate and evidence based clinical decisions when providing competent, clinical management of the patient with minor illness.
• The observation of practice may be used as evidence to support your critical analysis of a consultation with a patient
On successful completion of this assessment, you will be able to:
1. Interpret the health related needs of patients presenting with a minor illness and achieve diagnostic accuracy.
2. By undertaking supervised clinical practice, formulate effective clinical intervention with a range of clients with minor illnesses.
3. Critically analyse and utilise the knowledge and skills gained to make safe, appropriate and evidence-based clinical decisions when managing the patient with minor illness.
4. Synthesise knowledge and theory underpinning the management of patients with minor illness and synthesise this into your own future clinical practice.
