The Effects of Ineffective Interprofessional Collaboration
Introduction:
This written assignment will provide an opportunity to explore an interprofessional practice issue derived from clinical experiences. You will reflect upon and analyze a selected interprofessional practice issue using relevant theory and literature.
Process:
You will identify and discuss interprofessional issues they have encountered in their professional or student nursing practice. You will choose a priority issue to analyze and present recommendations for future practice. You will write a narrative essay to present the issue and analysis, using the subheadings below.

The paper is a maximum of 4 pages, excluding clinical situation (which is already written), title and reference pages. You are required to utilize minimum 8 scholarly literature (peer-reviewed articles) and any additional articles to support conclusions and arguments. The paper should be written in a scholarly manner with APA 7th edition as the guide.

Consider the following questions and guide when writing your paper:
1. What Interprofessional practice situations have we encountered in our practice as nurse or nursing student? What do I remember about this situation? What can we learn from analyzing this situation?
Discuss the various situations you have encountered and choose a situation of interest to explore.
2. What are the details of the clinical situation?
Clearly describe the clinical situation to the reader. What is the IP issue? Was it resolved or not and why? Ensure that two or more interprofessional health care professionals are involved in the clinical situation and that they are clearly identified.
3. What is the IP Competency described in the clinical situation?
Select one of the 6 IP competencies identified in the CIHC Framework. Ensure that the IP competency chosen links clearly to the clinical situation described. Explain and apply the competency.
4. What is the significance of the issue?
Describe the impact of the IP issue on the patient, family, health care provider(s), and/or the organization.
5. What were the contributing factors that led to this situation?
Based upon your analysis of the clinical situation and synthesis of the literature, determine 3 factors (individual or organizational level) that contributed to the IP issue.
The factors should directly relate to the clinical situation. Each contributing factor must be evident in the description of your clinical situation and be a factor that contributes directly to the IP competency chosen.
6. What recommendations would you propose to address this IP issue?
Propose 3 specific evidence-based recommendations to address the IP issue that relate to the contributing factors and that can be readily implemented in the clinical setting.
