Write a poem about a storm or other form of extreme weather. It may be a simple
rainstorm, or a raging hurricane. It may even be a tornado, earthquake, sandstorm, or
other unusual weather system. Use at least 1 image and 1 onomatopoeic sound in your
poem.
Here are some additional ideas if you are having trouble getting started:
1. An expressionist poem in which the storm is actually in the speaker’s head.
2. A poem in which the storm mirrors some other type of conflict or battle.
3. A poem in which the storm is portrayed as something serene and soothing.
