Child Abuse
(1) Understanding and Preventing Child Abuse in Kentucky
a) Our project will focus on highlighting and analyzing the risk factors that contribute to the
rise in cases of child abuse in Kentucky State and how to prevent it.
(2) Video Component: Short Documentary Film on the dangers of child abuse in Kentucky and
how to end it.
a) Brief Statement of Issue
● Statement will take approximately 10-15 minutes with a photo montage.
b) Two charts – each will take 1 minutes
● Poverty rates in Kentucky amongst children as a risk factor for child abuse and
neglect
● The percentage of children out of homecare as of 2016
c) One poem- will take 1 minute
● The poem is titled Living In My Own World
(3) Policy Brief – using the regulation in place in the United States, The Child Abuse Prevention
and Treatment Act.
