This week you write a narrative essay; the only essay when first person is acceptable. Narratives Address the follow questions and formatting:
Content:
What is the significance of your experience to the reader? Narrative can be a very powerful strategy; however, it is a strategy you utilize for a purpose. What is the moral of the story? You are not just telling a personal story, but using personal experience to explain a larger social issue.
Structure:
A narrative is only partly about you, about a third to be exact. 1 or 2 paragraphs, 3 tops. Then the essay turns and you begin to explain the social significance of your memory. The final part or turn is the conclusion, which either moves to an argument or the moral of the story.
