There are perhaps some unexpected texts here in this course (i.e. those that are not in the anthology). The editors have a huge task trying to come up with a comprehensive compilation of texts from cultures around the world, and there is room for some improvement. Note the Table of Contents of our anthology. We will challenge the notion of “masterpieces,” which appears in the course title. You will consider revisions to our anthology and make additions.

Discuss the choice you’ve made in comparison to the choices our editors have made (analyzing the significance of the course texts in the anthology you’ve been assigned so far and choosing one other anthologized work not in our course as an additional basis for comparison). (In addition to the texts aforementioned, you are welcome to use texts you are already familiar with that could qualify as world literature.)
