Research Project assessment is to be based on your Placement or an area of Social Services that you have an interest in. This can include adult services; criminal justice services; housing support; care at home; children, young people and families’ services.

You should introduce the service, giving an outline of:

  1. The range of people who use the service e.g. the client group
  2. What kind of work it is e.g. the setting (in the community; a care home; the persons home etc.)
  • What particular skills and experience you need

The Research Project should integrate the following and THROUGHOUT should be applied to the client group:

  1. Describe and evaluate two ways a leader can involve people who use services to promote; person centred care, choice and control, health and wellbeing.

Describe and evaluate, look at the specific ways, how they do that with the service users. Two examples of the personal centre care, display leadership quality. What is the organisation doing?

  1. Describe and evaluate two priority frameworks related to health inequalities.

Define what health inequalities, if client is disability or any other client group. Use the Act and legislation related to the group. Say something at yr work place or the client group.

  1. Explain the purpose of the Codes of Practice and describe three duties and responsibilities related to safeguarding individuals.

Split into section past abuse, SSSC.

  1. Identify and describe three signs of neglect, harm and abuse that are related to vulnerability factors.

Social democracy and related public issue, choose a social issue, universal credit, trying to help everyone in society, cut to service, trying to put people to work, mental health

  1. Research and evaluate one public issue from a care context in terms of social democracy
  2. Provide a timeline of significant developments in Human Rights legislation
  3. Explain three factors that have shaped the development of family structures and roles
  4. Describe and evaluate the concept of neuroscience in one area of human development

  • As this is a research project and not an essay you are also encouraged to use headings

Submit via turn-it-in, by the date set by your lecturer. If turn-it-in highlights similarities of 20% or more your essay will be returned to you unmarked for remediation and this will be classed as a first attempt.

If you are unable to submit by this date you must contact your lecturer at least 48 hours prior to this date to negotiate an extension. Failure to do this will be counted as a first attempt.

3.       Relate the CoP and duties to your chosen client group in regards to safe guarding

4.       Link the vulnerability factors  and signs to your chosen client group

5.       Research a public issue in care in terms of democracy to your chosen client group

6.       Provide a brief time-line of HR legislation

7.       Explain factors in terms of the development of family structures and roles relevant to your chosen client group
