Real Event: The Thai Cave Rescue
Fictional Twist: 20 Minutes before the final rescue dive you receive news from an Australian news outlet that Dr. Harris’ father is sick and will more than likely pass in a couple of days. You know Dr. Harris’ skill is vital to the success of the mission. Informing Dr. Harris of his father’s illness has the potential to derail his support as he may choose to head back to Australia to be with his father in his final hours or at the very least he may lose focus and endanger himself and the children during the rescue dive operation.
Who You Are: Head decision maker for all decisions related to the coordination and rescue of the trapped boys and their coach.
Ethical decision to be made from your chosen style: Do you inform Dr. Harris of his father’s pending death before the planned rescue dive and jeopardize the success of the mission or wait until after the mission is complete before informing him?
