Students are required to write a 3-page essay on a current, federal, state, or city government policy issue. You will choose an issue, present an argument as to why it’s important, and present a recommended course of action to solve the issue. This will be done in the style of a letter to an elected government official, your state representative or senator or local legislator. A minimum of two (2) outside sources are required with proper MLA citations. Remember, all written assignments must adhere to MLA or APA style guidelines. (Keep in mind thought that your letter will be much more detailed and thus have many more body paragraphs).
