This assignment requires you to develop a total of 7 journal entries, one for each module from Modules 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10. Your journal entries should demonstrate a reflective and considered (i.e. informed with references) perspective. You have the freedom to choose an aspect or an issue (or several) from a topic within the given module. Reflective work requires you to develop and justify a position or conclusion you have arrived at after due consideration.
This assignment is open ended – so you have a great deal of choice in determining the issues you wish to focus on and the approach you take. However the quality of your arguments (support, strength of reasoning) will determine the quality of the work and subsequent grades.
Journal entries should be approximately 300 to 400 words in length and contain the following:
• A topic heading along with module heading and number
• Your reflections
• List of references
In identifying an approach you may find the following probing questions useful:
• Did anything standout as being interesting?
• Did anything standout as being particularly useful or having merit?
• Did anything standout as being not very practical or logical (or contain weaknesses)?
• Did anything standout as being controversial or questionable?
• Why? for any of the above (i.e. reasons to support your views).
The aim of the journal is to argue one or more points of view you have adopted as a result of reflecting upon – a number of issues, ideas or principles covered in the modules. This assignment is structured so that you can continue to refine your journal entries throughout the semester. However, it is strongly recommended that you commence this assignment in week 2 and keep pace with entries as set out in the semester study schedule for this course.
Key assessment criteria are depth of insight and understanding, strength of argument and expression and grammar.
NOTES: Please look @ each word document (modules) before starting each journal entry – each module is the basis of assignment for the journal entries. Remember: it is open ended – just needs to be an informed and justified analysis. 300 words per module. Please use other journal articles online to get informed decision. Please use the questions as per above. I have attached sample journals – please use these as a guide.
