Critical Essay.
Research any topic from the lecture, discuss it using research based evidence, and analyze it using feminist theory. Your essay must make a case, or argument, and must demonstrate your ability to research thoroughly and present work critically.
Use examples to illustrate your point throughout the essay. All arguments must be backed by evidence and research from reliable sources. Use feminist theory and authors to back your case.
You will be marked on your ability to analyze and critique a contemporary social issue from a feminist perspective with the goal of improving women’s health and well-being.
In relation to the book “deadly persuasion, why women and girls must fight the addictive power of advertising” from Jean Kilbourne, should be part of the essay. Jean Kilbourne should be my prior theorist in this essay, but would be great to find more theorist related to that topic. Also Celeste Barber, she is not an academic but it would be good to make reference to her and others opposing these pressures in this essay.
