Ivan lived a pleasant and decorativeness life for so many years. He thinks that he was living the right life; he did not really see life from other perceptive, he got the kind of job that he wanted that pays him the kind of money that he thinks his worth, finally he got married which believed to be pleasant in the face of friends, but when his wife brings her problems to him, he ignored them because that is not part of his pleasant life he foreseen. So he immersed himself in his job, play cards game with friends, but his life took another turn when he fell from where he was trying to design a curtain which leads to a serious sickness that finally lead to his death.
During the time of his ailment he felt alone because no one really had time to show him neither pity nor care. His friends and family just felt as though he was just sick that he will get better, but for Ivan he was in real pain and needed people to show that they care and sympathized with him. Ivan was afraid of death because death was not pleasant. However, the transformation began when he stare death in the face , no one seem to understand because that was the kind of community that he had lived, where people pretend that everything is just fine. Although, that was the initial life that Ivan lived before his misfortune, now on his death bed he sees it as deceit which he hated. Even his wife and daughter he believed that they see him as thought he was standing on the way. This brought him to deep reflection of the past; that he could only live that life when he was not sick and now that his health has deteriorated no one was ready to be friends with nor associate with him expect for his servant whom he found soothe with.
Finally, after all the fears and worry that Ivan went through not to face the biggest price of man’s life, he finally come to tense with it which he wanted others just to understand that he is going to die, and he is fine with it .
