We make descriptive assumptions about the causes of the behavior of others and of our own behavior all the time. Consider the last time that someone did something to you that you didn’t like. What conclusion did you infer from that act? In drawing that conclusion, what did you assume? How do you think our assumptions about the causes of other people’s behavior influence our conclusions about their behavior?
