You are now required to carry out a full setting out operation of the site by utilizing a total station free station programme, including both horizontal and vertical control. Data from a previous topographic survey will be utilized for this process. The client has requested that you then prepare a report on the causes of errors within a setting out process and an appraisal of techniques to improve accuracy, including the use of digital data that may be used on future surveys. The client requires the following; ·Extract and transfer the results from the topographic survey to a total station and undertake the setting out of the site including horizontal and vertical control (Resection). ·An analysis of the accuracy achieved and techniques utilized throughout a setting out process. ·Compilation of a report identifying the common causes of errors in surveying and setting out and comparisons to accuracy achieved through industry standards.
