Government in Action Observation and Report (25 points): Students earn points by observing at least one government activity/meeting. Meeting options include, but are not limited to, the following:
- City council
- County commission
- Tribal government
Write a brief review linking the meeting and the actions taken to course content. The report due date is identified in the course schedule. Content of the review is to include the following:
- Date attended;
- Type and purpose of the meeting attended;
- Description of the debate or testimony observed with an identification of the skills you see used;
- Identification of the decisions or actions taken;
- Your own assessment of the meeting: the format, the process, the interactions between legislative or council members, the interactions between the legislature or council and community members, and analysis of the actions taken in relation to social work values and ethics.
