Quantitative Methods Assignment
In this Assignment, you are required to demonstrate your knowledge of quantitative methods by completing and reporting the analyses for a specified research project.
In simple terms, you will be given a dataset(see csv attachment)that has been collected via a small survey, and your task is to develop hypotheses, perform appropriate statistical analysis, and write up your findings in the style of a short journal article(see report format attachment).
In previous years, the survey was itself performed by students on the module –that is, each member of the class was asked to collect responses from members of the public –and the collective responses formed the dataset used for this assessment.
This data collection did not contribute to the grade for the assignment, but was simply to provide a distinctive source of data for the project.
Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic means that in-person data collection will notbe possible in 2020/21, and so students will not have to collect data –instead, the dataset used for this assignment will be one that has been collected by students in a previous year.
The original data collection process will be explained below. To complete this assignment, you will need to take the data that was collected for the project and use it to produce a written report. To be clear: the design of the study is pre-determined, and the data has already been collected.
The task for the assignment is to analyse and interpret the data, and present your findings. In what follows, section A) provides details of the specific research project –section A1) describes the nature of the project, and section A2) describes the procedure used to collect the data. The text in section B) then provides guidance as to how the reports should be written. Section B1) provides an overview of what is expected of students, while section B2) provides a more specific indication of how marks will be allocated
