Supermarket Math
This essay talks about the differences between “school” math and “street” math. We are often applying mathematical techniques without even thinking about it. Your essay should include the following with support and reasoning for each:
A summary of what the author’s purpose in writing the article was.
An example from your life or from an acquaintance of a non-standard technique in use.
A discussion of one of the non-standard techniques that the author describes including why you think the technique gives the correct answer.
