Your paper will focus on a case of environmental injustice in either the city for your group project or your hometown (if you use your hometown, please write about an issue you haven’t previously blogged about). First, provide a brief description of the issue. Who are the major actors involved and how are they related? Which planetary boundaries are involved and specifically what is the environmental pollutant or problem? Second, if there has been some social mobilization around the topic, how has the issue been framed and what leverage points are they targeting (i.e., who do they want to do what)? You should briefly discuss your thoughts on the effectiveness of the framing and leverage point. If there hasn’t been any social mobilization, how would you frame the issue and what leverage points would you target in order to spark change? Finally, what does this case tell us about the values, orientation, and/or effectiveness of the city government?
