What Do You Think?
For some students the hidden curriculum and the extracurriculum are the most central to their school experience. Define the roles of these unofficial curricular experiences in your education. If you were placed in charge of a school today how would you change these hidden and extracurricular experiences. How might your changes be evident in elementary, middle and high schools? Why?
When you look at this don’t forget the “hidden curriculum”, i.e the unwritten curriculum where students learn lots via their reactions to informal unofficial curriculum areas (such as reactions to interactions between student and teacher, student and student, being in the “red” reading group, etc. )
