The question is: ‘Now that most of that case law is redundant, all these good stories with their contentious moral messages will go unread. As adverse possession becomes a simple application of rules, like conveyancing and land registration we lose one more opportunity to encourage students to think about the moral basis of our legal systems, ideas or right and wrong, law and justice…’ Using case law, statute and academic commentary, critically analyse this statement in respect of the law of adverse possession and the moral arguments that surround it.
